If you are denied entry to Canada for grounds such as past criminal convictions or for not meeting Canada’s health standards, you may apply for a temporary resident permit (TRP) if you have an important reason to come to Canada.

While completing the application, you may notice that there are some required documents you must gather and submit. One of these documents is a document checklist, which will provide you with all the mandatory materials you need to provide along with your application.

As I earlier mentioned, a document checklist is required with the submission of your package. In addition to the usual documents you must submit, such as, and if applicable.

• The Use of a Representative form
• The Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union
• A photocopy of your Marriage Certificate

You will also be asked to submit:

• A photocopy of your current immigration document (if applicable)
• Two pass-port sized photos of yourself and for each of your family member in Canada with the correlating name and birthdate of each person on the back
• Photocopies of your passport pages showing
  • The passport number
  • The dates of issue and expiry
  • Your name
  • Your birthdate
  • Any stamp made by a Canadian authority on your most recent entry into Canada
• Photocopies of your travel or identity documents
  • Citizenship certificates
  • Birth certificates
• Proof of your financial stability
  • Bank account statements
• Photocopy of your return flight (if applicable)
• Photocopy of documents in regards to your criminal convictions
• Proof of any action you took to solve your inadmissibility
